Middle school is an exciting and transformative time, marked by rapid growth, self-discovery, and expanding curiosity. Students face unique challenges, including exploring interests, seeking identity, and navigating complex social dynamics. Counselors play a vital role in supporting students during this period of development.
Middle school counselors are professional educators with a mental health perspective who collaborate with teachers, parents, and the community. They provide proactive leadership and deliver comprehensive school counseling programs designed to foster academic success, personal growth, and positive social skills.

Meet the School Counselors
Jenny Meacham
Hello and welcome to Coopertown Middle School! My name is Jenny Meacham and I am one of your School Counselors.
I am in my 5th year as a School Counselor. I received my BS in Languages & Literature from Austin Peay State University in 2007. After spending time working in higher education and then local government, I decided I wanted to work with young people, so I returned to APSU to attend grad school and earned my MS in School Counseling in 2019.
