Class Expectations

Mrs. Cook’s 6th Grade Class Expectations

1. Respect yourself, the teacher, and others.
2. Put forth your best effort at all times.
3. Be prepared for class EVERY day.
4. Follow directions the first time they are given.
5. Pay attention, participate, and ask questions.
6. Preserve a positive learning environment.
7. Take responsibility for your actions.


Class Rules

1. Cell phones or electronic devices are not permitted in my classroom.
2. No food or drink, except bottled water. No cups or mugs.
3. Arrive to class on time and ready to learn.
4. Never line up at the door before dismissal.
5. Do not cheat, plagiarize, or copy work.
6. Use polite and appropriate language at all times.
7. Do your best work and turn work in on time.

                                                      Daily Class Procedures

1. Have paper and pencil ready to begin work. Sharpen pencils before class begins.
2. Begin bell-ringer or journal entry upon arriving in the classroom.
3. After bell-ringer activity is completed, begin 20 minutes of silent reading.
4. Complete absent form for absent buddy.
5. Sign the tardy binder if late to class.
6. Pick up after yourself before you leave the classroom.
7. Get missed work from absent bin, talk to your absent buddy, then ask the teacher.

1. Student Behavior Sheet will be completed by student after first warning.
2. Verbal Warning - second warning.
3. Call Home or Email parents - third warning
4. Office Referral - fourth and final warning.

* Serious offenses can, at the teacher’s discretion, result in more severe consequences regardless of previous steps taken.
